Wall came tumbling down
for 12 years the world had hope
then Twin Towers fell

Thing is, there is still striking difference between east and West Berlin. I’m very serious when I say that the feeling when you cross the line where the wall used to be is like crossing from one world into another. Mentalities are different. heck, even fashion is different – I live very much close to the “border”. I have two possibilities to shop in my vecinity. One in the East and one in the West. The East sells the same communist style, while the Wast is pretty much Macy’s. It’s incredible, but it’s true.

That’s interesting how an invisible wall still remains even a quarter of a century after the physical wall went down.

It shows that ideas are able to become ingrained in concrete reality.

And where different ideologies have clashed, different realities can still prevail.

Very true! And the scariest thing is that people want the old regime back, whether overtly or covertly. Give them a chance, and they’ll grab it.

So if eastern German thinking hasn’t changed, that probably means Russian thinking hasn’t changed.

Which probably explains a lot of what’s happening in the world.

You wouldn’t believe how German business committees prove Russian lovers in Berlin. I could rant on this for hours. If my son didn’t claim my arms now I’d write a whole essay 🙂

I guess Germany isn’t the rosy picture that the North American media portrays.

That’s shocking to know but it actually explains a lot.

Since I spend great parts of my day in Sherlock Holmsian fashion analyzing the geopolitical state of the world.

Berlin is still very much communist socialist, whatever it is, but it s ugly

Yes, the system that is Communism, the system that was Naziism and the system that is militant Islam- they’re all very repulsive and ugly.

One wonders how many generations it might take for that distinction to disappear.

    Two walls that fell …
But not the Wall of China – that is a hell of a wall or walls … 😛
