Put on your red shoes
and dance the blues… in honour
of fallen Stardust

    Beautiful tribute haiku, Chris.
    I got teary-eyed.
    Will miss David Bowie.

Nice tribute, Chris. I saw David Bowie in a New Orleans warehouse before he cut his first album. He was Ziggy Stardust and the spiders from mars. His show was mesmerizing and I thought he should be a star. And of course, he was. Some liked him and some didn’t but the fact was he was the vanguard of avant-garde music; ahead of his time and extremely talented, not just as a singer, but as a musician as well.

Yes, I saw him in an open air concert at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton.

I remember Peter Gabriel was one of the opening acts.

Then I remember vividly the sun was starting to set and the twilight and moon and stars were starting to appear In the sky over the stadium and then a spotlight shone on to the central stage and into the spotlight stepped Bowie who started to sing, “Let’s dance. Put on your red shoes and dance the blues…”.

It was a moment I remember vividly even to this day.

One of those moments in life that not only seemed magical at the time but continue in your memory as one of those special magical memories.

The start of 2016 came with a large group of well known people dying of disease. Does anyone know where Pan Goatee is at the moment? But, in their passing we are brought to reflection and we remember those moments they gave us through their talent and interaction with us. Special moments indeed, that can never be repeated exactly as they were before so we look forward.

Of course both Rickman and Bowie were male and somewhat good looking.

Pan Goatee normally bumps off those who are female and ugly.

Of course he also does contract assassin work for the U.S. government so maybe they arranged to bump off Bowie and Rickman for some reason.

Perhaps the Social Co-ordinator-In-Chief didn’t approve of Severus Snape’s teaching methods in the Harry Potter films and he happened to lose huge amounts of money on the Chinese stock market right in the middle of watching Bowie’s China Girl video.

As soon as that happened, Bowie’s and Rickman’s days were numbered.

He might not be able to win the war against ISIS, and Vladimir Putin makes him look like a ballerina in comparison but by God, he won’t take any nonsense from celebrities who are actually talented.

Oh well, at least Kim Kardashian will have nothing to worry about.

As they say, all the good men die young. I guess that promises me a long future. Doh! Ms. Lee just loves Bowie’s China Girl, especially the part where she says, shut your mouth. She always looks at me during that part for some reason. Long live the bootie!

      • Dracul Van Helsing said,

        LOL !

She particularly enjoys that line “Shut your mouth” eh? 😉 😀
