Black sheep of the family & dyslexia a lifetime

A heart wrenching personal essay written by my good friend the South African writer Timothy Wood about his lifelong battle and struggle with dyslexia.

The Sarejessian

As far back as I can remember I have been the black sheep of my family.

Now this is not a pity party it is just the way it is. Ill list the facts & reasons why & you can decided for yourself.

1.) I in no way shape or form conform to members of my father’s side of the family. Who for the most part are down to earth hard working artisans, mechanics, and folk from that sort of lifestyle.
These folks qualified in the usual way after finishing school and going on to complete the required qualifications in their field’s of interest.

The people from my mother’s side of the family are more intellectuals and they also happen to be proud people who do not accept into their ranks new family members who are odd or different with very few exceptions.

The exception been the family of my…

I went to check on his side of the blog.
I really can relate to that because my son is one who has it too.
My boy is an autist but he is a strong boy who always helps and hold others to his heart, reminding them that life is just so wonderful to waste on people who bullied him on such.
Like I wrote on Tim’s side, my son told those bullies that he is the special one who has something different and they are just the ORDINARY ONES.
He made me laugh by saying those things.
He holds me always to tell me that I have the courage and just be myself.
Sometimes, it is the children who taught you about life when you simply forgot to live one … 🙂

Yes, that’s very true, Sherrie my friend.

Your son is a very special and wonderful boy.

Tell him that his Uncle Chris thinks he’s even more courageous than Hercules from Greek mythology. 🙂

My son has the bravest heart of all.
        He is my hero.
He is, indeed, a special kid with a big heart.

        A brave heart! 🙂

Like that Scottish national hero both my friend Timothy Wood and I look up to- Sir William Wallace (whom Mel Gibson played in the movie Braveheart). ❤

      • ѕнєяяιє ∂є ναℓєяια said,

Pity that Mel Gibson is an asshole of all time. He was and still is one of the brilliant actor and film producer.
I believe that his Jesus film the last time was doomed … Mel is sure living a hell of life time right now …

      • Dracul Van Helsing said,

Yes, he should never have left his wife.

        The silly twit.

Committing adultery and then claiming to be a good Catholic.

      • ѕнєяяιє ∂є ναℓєяια said,

        Mel has his own demons.
He needs an exorcism as well!

      • Dracul Van Helsing said,

        I think you’re right, Sherrie.

Sadly, he does need an exorcism.

Making a movie like The Passion of The Christ, the Devil would attack him.

And sadly Mel fell for the Devil’s temptation. 😦

      • ѕнєяяιє ∂є ναℓєяια said,

Yes, in that movie the actor Jesus (James Caviezel) were struck by lightning. Either it is the devil’s work or that God Himself does not really approve, no one knows … 😛

      • Dracul Van Helsing said,

Yes, just like the dome of Saint Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican was struck twice by lightning the evening of the day Pope Benedict XVI “voluntarily” resigned.

      • ѕнєяяιє ∂є ναℓєяια said,

        That was pretty scary.
I had a bad lightning experience once that saved my life from a paedophile when I was in the 9th grade. I remembered that day was about to rain and stormy wind blowing hard for hours. But then I decided to walked back home before the rain. The journey to walk back home take nearly an hour to reach and there was a man followed me half the way. I was alone …

He kept on calling out to me to follow him somewhere in the woods and playing with him. I got scared and I ran away, and ran after me. Suddenly it was no fun for him at all running after me like that and he kept yelling at me that he will hang me upside down. I screamed and no one is close by. It was in the jungle, you know.

Then, I prayed the ‘Lord’s Prayer’ from Sunday mass, asking help from the Lord to send me His guardian angel. But what came was unexpected because a lightning strikes between the man and I, but he got electrified.

I ran home quickly to tell my mother and she informed my father and the villagers came by to look for the man. He was unconscious under the trees and they caught him, locked him in one of the elder’s house until the police came.

It was later when we were told how lucky I was because that man was a wanted paedophile! I remembered how I cried in my father’s arms when I heard the adults talking about him. My parents does not want me to know even what is a paedophile all about, but instead my grandfather told me that kids should know for their own protection.

So, I guessed, that was the Lord struck down the man with his lightning bolt like Zeus did … Gosh … even to recall back that memory shaken me to the core … It is one of the nightmare that I shall never forget until today …

      • Dracul Van Helsing said,

That would be an awful experience.

What an awful thing to have happened.

I’m glad the lightning bolt hit him.

The Lord indeed sent his angel to protect you, my dear friend.

      • ѕнєяяιє ∂є ναℓєяια said,

That was once a lifetime experience. And I do not want to go over the horror again. More than half the girls had had bad experience with men like that. Paedophiles are everywhere like predators freely roaming around.

Why do you think so many older men are after young girls out there? Just so disgusting, really.

Once when I went out to the ice cream shop with the kids, there was this one old man who staring at my kids as if he wants to eat them. I stared back at him and he realized I was watching. He went out quickly, but I was glad to take a few shot of him before he went off. I send his photo to one of my police friend and she checked it on him. He has no criminal records except for few traffic tickets. But that does not mean that he is not a paedophile. We all know there are too many criminals as such are out there and never had records and there are living among us … It is pretty horrific even to know that such monsters are among us. I felt shaken and very upset when that old man were staring at my kids in a very disgusting way when he was watching their butts and legs! I felt I am ready to kill him.

      • Dracul Van Helsing said,

Yes, sadly there are so many sick perverts and pedophiles out there.

It’s just so sick and twisted that there are people there like that.

      • ѕнєяяιє ∂є ναℓєяια said,

        Yes, true.
I will call either Renfield or Pan Goatee to go after that old man and other criminals.

      • Dracul Van Helsing said,

        That’s an excellent idea, Sherrie.

That’s where we need the Pan Goatees and the Renfields of the world to get rid of sickos like that.

      • ѕнєяяιє ∂є ναℓєяια said,

Or Sherrielock Holmes do the whipping!
        TOMATOED!

      • Dracul Van Helsing said,

Yes, tomatoed buns a la perverte.

One of Sherrielock’s French recipes. 😀

      • ѕнєяяιє ∂є ναℓєяια said,

LOL Okay! I’ll order for two, please?

      • Dracul Van Helsing said,

        ROTFL !
