Day of Atonement
war breaks out no atonement
peace still elusive

    Excellent point in such few words, Chris. It’s hard to say that war ever achieves its objectives if peace is one of those objectives. A sovereign nation never survives an incursion it isn’t ready to defeat. Unfortunately, there is no end to the desire to conquer and no end to the need to defend.
