It was 12 years ago today that I started writing my first vampire novel.

In November, 2004, I was thinking of writing a vampire novel and decided to do so.

Since November 17th was the Feast Day of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary and Bela Lugosi who played Dracula in the 1931 Universal Pictures horror film was Hungarian, I decided to start writing my vampire novel on November 17th 2004- the Feast Day of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary.

From November 2004 to December 2008, I wrote my vampire novel at a blogging site called Journalspace with an interesting array of characters- Canadian vampire hunter Dracul Van Helsing, the billionaire ancient Egyptian vampire Set, South Korean vampire huntress Hyung Grace Kwan, Renfield R. Renfield the devious and horny shapeshifting hamster/human spy for Set, Amadeus Emanon the enthusiastic connoisseur of fine cuisine, Heathcliff Dionysus Campbell the first openly gay candidate for the Presidency of the United States (who finished third behind Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton for the Democratic Presidential nomination in 2008) and Heathcliff’s delightful pet Siamese cat Oysterella (who had a penchant for eating oysters and drinking champagne).

Alas! The Journalspace site crashed in December 2008 and I hadn’t made any backup copies. My vampiric equivalent of Tolstoy’s War and Peace was lost to the world.

After five months in a state of shock, I finally started writing my vampire novel again in April 2009 at a blogging site called Xanga. But this time I made back-up copies which was a good thing because Xanga itself went bankrupt in 2014.

This new vampire novel that I started in April 2009 with the same cast of characters and some exciting new ones (Pan Goatee the genetically created satyr serial killer who specializes in killing ugly women with his heightened sense of worldly aesthetics, Welsh werewolf British Labour MP Magog Rhys Petley who has discovered that buttermilk can serve as an antidote to his lycanthropy problem and Michelangelo the genetically created psychic lobster who correctly predicted Donald Trump’s Presidential victory in the U.S. when every so-called expert and pundit on the planet was ruling him out) has since grown into a vampire septology (series of 7 vampire novels).

I’m currently half-way with my 5th vampire novel in this series.

My 1st vampire novel is available for purchase here (your choice of Kindle or Paperback):
