Haiku About Godzilla RIP

This haiku is written in honour of Japanese actor Haruo Nakajima the man who played Godzilla in the first 12 original Godzilla movies that were made from 1954 to 1972.

Mr. Nakajima died yesterday Monday August 7th at the age of 88.

      Thanks.

Yes, when I heard the news today that Haruo Nakajima had died, I felt a part of my childhood had died because I used to watch Godzilla films all the time when they were on TV.

Yes — funny and sad, how those things affect us.

It is indeed both sad and funny.

How one looks back on movies about a fire-breathing radioactive atomic dinosaur with great nostalgia.

I suppose those movies seemed wonderful through a child’s eyes and part of the nostalgia is remembering the joy one experienced in childhood.

Yes! I love many old ‘cheesy’ movies.

    Sad to hear this news.
Sweet, fun haiku in his honor.
They used to play the old Godzilla movies (and Sinbad, Frankenstein, Tarzan and etc.) on TV on weekend afternoons! 🙂 Fun stuff!

Yeah, I think that was the show I watched, Carolyn.

Because in addition to Godzilla, they did show movies about Sinbad and Frankenstein and Tarzan. 🙂
