Sunshine Blogger Award

Sunshine Blogger Award

I would like to thank velvetsceams (I’m sorry, velvet, I don’t know your real first name) for nominating me for the Sunshine ☀️ Blogger Award.

velvet’s blog can be found here:

https://priscawriter.wordpress.com/

One thing about being nominated for this award is all my readers and followers will find out my knowledge of HTML is nil.

All the cool 😎 bloggers are able to write the names of bloggers in some form of cool bold looking italics which the reader can just click on to take them to their blog.

I being an uncool nerd have not figured out how to do that.

So I’ll name the blogger’s user name and then write their URL (or website address) afterwards.

Anyhow I would like to thank velvet for nominating me for the Sunshine Blogger Award.

It’s all right for a vampire hunter to be nominated for a Sunshine Blogger award. 😊

Now if I was a vampire 🧛‍♂️ being nominated for a Sunshine Blogger award, I would have to wonder what the nominating reader thinks 🤔 of me since vampires 🧛‍♂️ have a tendency to go up in flames 🔥 when sunlight ☀️ hits them. 😉

The Sunshine Blogger award is given to those who are creative, positive and inspiring while spreading sunshine to the blogging community ☀️ (please don’t hold your breath waiting for Donald Trump to win a Twitter Sunshine Tweeter Award unless you’re feeling suicidal).

Proceeding with the rules:

1. Thank the person who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.

2. Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you (I wonder why 11? Maybe has something to do with the age Harry Potter was when he first went to Hogwart’s?).

3. Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions (here’s the part where WordPress blogging friendships are often lost).

4. List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or your blog (if your bed 🛏 post objects to having the Sunshine Blogger Award logo displayed on it, may I suggest your blog post only?).

As I mentioned before, my knowledge of HTML is nil so I have no idea how to display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo on my blog so I hope 🤞 this will do:

Here are my answers to velvet’s questions:

1. What are your likes and dislikes?

Answer:

Likes- Making out with beautiful women (one thing on my bucket list I’ve yet to accomplish), watching classic old movies (especially from the 1940s), reading Sherlock Holmes novels, watching opera, listening to the Book of Common Prayer Anglican liturgy, reading and watching Shakespeare, listening to baroque music (especially Bach, Handel and Vivaldi) and eating all varieties of Asian food (when I lived in Vancouver, I ate Asian food all the time- Thai, Malaysian, Vietnamese, Chinese, Indian, Korean, Japanese, Indonesian).

Dislikes- ugly women, dull boring people and eating parsnips and turnips

2. What is your hubby?

Well since I’m not gay, I don’t have a hubby.

If you mean hobby, I suppose it’s reading (my favourite genres are mystery and detective, historical, biographical and of course vampire novels) and writing ✍️ (though I’m also currently trying to make a profession out of that).

3. Have you traveled abroad before?

Yes, I’ve been to Britain on 3 different occasions (traveling across England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿).

I’ve been to Ireland 🇮🇪 on one occasion.

4. Why did you choose to write on WordPress?

Well even though I’ve had a WordPress account since 2007, I didn’t really start writing on WordPress full time until July 2013 when my previous blogging site Xanga went down the drain (and plumbers still haven’t been able to locate it).

5. What is your best genre of books?

Mystery and detective novels.

6. Which place in the world would you love to visit?

Well there are several places in the world I’d love to visit.

In terms of which cities I’d really love to visit, it’s a toss up between Paris, Venice, Vienna and Prague.

In terms of which country, it’s probably a toss up between Japan 🇯🇵, Russia 🇷🇺, Malaysia 🇲🇾 and India 🇮🇳 .

There are several different states or provinces in the world that I’d like to visit as well but probably the one I’d like to visit most is Bavaria.

In terms of islands 🌴, I’d like to visit Hawaii, Bali, the South Sea islands, Tahiti or somewhere in the Caribbean.

7. Where are you from?

I was born in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada.

8. Why did you decide to write?

I’ve been writing since I was in Grade 3 the first grade where my teacher set aside one period each week devoted to Creative Writing.

During that grade on my own I started writing a series of plays about a talking basset hound named Sir Pythias Basset who eloped with a French poodle called Frou Frou La Rue thus pissing off Frou Frou’s owner Mrs. Helena Goldfeather the famous millionairess.

The series of plays showed the ongoing battles and feud between Sir Pythias Basset and Mrs. Helena Goldfeather.

9. What do you hope to accomplish with this?

I hope to become as successful as J. K. Rowling and when I have as much money as she does, I’d use that money to support good and worthy causes and charities like she does.

10. Why did you choose WordPress rather than other blogs?

Well the previous blogs I started out on – Journalspace and Xanga- went belly up. I started out on Journalspace in November 2004 and it went belly up after its computer system crashed in December 2008. I started out on Xanga in April 2009 and it went belly up in June 2013.

WordPress seemed to be the only major blogging site left.

11. Do you like stories with sad ending?

I don’t actually. I like stories with happy endings. 🙂

The only story I like which had what some people might consider a sad ending was the 1942 movie Casablanca and I don’t really consider that ending sad because Rick (Humphrey Bogart) chose to do what was noble and proper rather than let his own personal desires come first.

Here are the questions for my Sunshine Blogger nominees:

1. Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party? (I’d like to thank the ghost of the late U.S. Senator Joe McCarthy for suggesting that question)

2. What political leader in the world would you most like to kick in the rear end and why?

3. Which character in my vampire novel is your favourite? (I’ve always wanted to know who my readers’ favourite characters in my vampire novel are).

4. What is your favourite Shakespeare play and why?

5. What’s your favourite piece of music (be it symphony, concerto, opera, melody or song?)

6. If you could have dinner with any person in history, who would it be and why?

7. If you could go on an adventure with any character in literature, who would it be and why?

8. If you could have a drink in a bar or cocktail lounge with any character in the movies or a TV show, who would it be and why?

9. What is your favourite book of all time?

10. What variety of dinosaur 🦕 🦖 is your favourite?

11. If you could have a kinky love affair with anyone in history, literature or the movies, who would it be and why? (Feel free to take the equivalent of the U.S. 5th Amendment if you don’t feel like answering this question 😉)

BTW…I pay bigly for happy endings…

    • Dracul Van Helsing said,

Does that mean your own novel will end with Akira taking Lasetter’s whisky bottle and shoving it up that part of the anatomy of Lasetter where the sun (or any blogger for that matter) don’t shine while Paul telepathically communicates to Lasetter, “Try to think of this as medical science rather than a plain old fashioned enema.”
