A Christmas snowfall is God’s gentle baptism of the Earth in the darkest of winter.

Or… It’s an atmospheric phenomena whereby on the third revolution of the third planet, after its northern hemisphere’s nadir Solstice, moisture accumulates in sufficient quantity, drops to below 0C and crystallizes. Being now too heavy to remain aloft it drifts down to cover the land in its native, perfectly opaque color.

Thank you for the scientific explanation, Mole. πŸ˜€

I can just imagine Vincent Van Gogh or one of the 19th Century Impressionists drawing some mathematical formulae or advanced calculus to explain this phenomenon instead of painting a winter landscape showing it.

      Instead of Omar Khayyam writing,

“The moving finger writes and having writ, moves on,
nor all thy piety nor wit shall lure it back to cancel half a line,
nor all thy tears wash out a word of it…”

Khayyam being the mathematician and astronomer that he was could have and should have easily drawn a mathematical formula showing the gravititational and various forces and principles of physics at work in explaining this strange phenomenon instead of writing about it in the manner he did above. πŸ˜€
