Walking Towards Autumn

September 16, 2021 at 10:36 pm (Nature, Poetry) ()

Walking towards autumn
Her dress the colour
of some of the leaves
on the ground

She had crossed leaves
Of gold and red and brown
to get to where she is

Facing the leaves still on the trees
She raised her hands as if to touch them

An act of supplication to the approaching autumn

I like how your poem shifted … I was settling into the lovely scene when one word deepened it for me: “supplication.” A deeper appreciation of nature, changes.

Simply the best season. Lovely photo and words. Autumn and her robe of splendor can’t come soon enough.
