I Saw A Wild Bobcat: A Poem

October 22, 2018 at 10:47 pm (Aesthetics, Arts, Biographical, Nature, Personal essays, Poetry) (, , , , )

A pleasant sunny afternoon
sitting in the arm chair of the living room
I was looking at my Samsung Galaxy tablet
and drinking chai tea
dreaming of the day I’d be able to do it near
the Taj Mahal

When suddenly a wild bobcat appeared on the lawn across the street
he dashed faster than American Pharoah or Secretariat across the street
like a road runner pursued by a wiley coyote
or a wild hare jack rabbit overcoming carrot withdrawal
soon he was on my kitty corner neighbour’s lawn
and continued bounding northwards

Just a quick hello to an urban neighbourhood
and a quick hello to a writer named Christopher
and then he was gone as quickly as he came
like a shooting star
his wild feline glory
momentarily graced our city streets
but it was not his destiny to stay
Just a quick hello and he was on his way

The Little Mermaid’s October 2018 Tea Party

October 7, 2018 at 9:38 pm (Inspiration, Life, Personal essays) (, , )

Here’s the Little Mermaid’s WordPress tea party for October 2018.

The Little Mermaid

What better way to suggest friendliness – and to create it – than with a cup of tea?” -J. Grayson Luttrell

Aloha, charming WordPressers!

I’m delighted to announce you that The Little Mermaid is hosting her third monthly tea party on her website. What? A tea party? On WordPress? When? How? For whom? Alright..alright…take it easy. I’m coming on to your questions.

Classically, a ‘tea party’ makes one think of superiorly elegant and elaborate affairs of the Victorian times. It also conjures up images of fluffy scones, flavoursome muffins, Devonshire Cream and dainty sandwiches served on fine silver or deluxe bone china. Still, the elemental part of a tea party remains the affable exchange of dialogue among the invitees. Almost indistinguishably, the tea party that I am organizing is an online social event hosted in honour of bloggers, that is US! Blogging is most enjoyable when it is done interactively…

The Original New Testament Femme Fatale or Lust and Decapitation: A Brief History of Salome

October 4, 2018 at 10:33 pm (Art, Culture, History, Personal essays) (, , )

An excellent blog post written by Miyako Yunagi on how Salome the original femme fatale of New Testament biblical history has inspired great works of art throughout the ages:

cestmiyako

I prefer artists who don’t belong to any genre, Morandi, Giacometti, San Yu.

Gustave Moreau is also considered one of them

Gustave Moreau likes to paint the enchantress.

The word enchantress was born in the French word “Femme Fatale”, which is used to describe a woman who is beautiful and charming ,but will bring disaster to men.

Salome is one of the most famous.

Salome was originally a princess with have no name in the Bible.

In the Gospel of Matthew, Herod smashed his brother, Helotti, and John the Baptist publicly condemned this unethical act.

Heroetti was particularly angry and resentful. One day, at Herod’s birthday party, Heroetti asked her daughter, Salome to dance for Herod.

The girl is so beautiful. Herod was very happy, and he promised that he would satisfy any of Salome’s wishes, even if she wanted half of the country.

But under the instruction of the…

Reblog- Putting a Face on Venezuela’s Humanitarian Crisis

September 29, 2018 at 10:52 pm (Commentary, Geopolitics and International Relations, International Intrigue, News, Personal essays) (, , )

An excellent blog post about the catastrophic humanitarian disaster currently unfolding in Venezuela 🇻🇪 .
Written by my good friend and fellow blogger Henry Lewis.

My quest blog

For those who have been paying scant attention to the news-worthy articles tucked between Trump headlines, the on-going humanitarian crisis in Venezuela may be but a blip on an already disorienting radar screen. However, with the pending collapse of President Nicolas Maduro’s government looking more inevitable as the days pass, along with limits to immigration being high on the agenda of many countries, this is a crisis to which we should all be paying attention.

Each day, Venezuelans are dying from malnutrition and treatable diseases due to hyperinflation that’s driving up prices and causing severe shortages of basics like food and medicine. The callous mindset that rules in Caracas was once again placed on international display this past week when President (and dictator) Maduro and his wife dined on the finest cuts of beef at an expensive soirée in Istanbul while his own people were starving back in Venezuela.

Tobey Kai Sings Who Are You?

August 12, 2018 at 10:17 pm (Commentary, Culture, Music, music videos, News, Personal essays, Songs) (, , , )

Tobey Kai Sings Who Are You?

There are certain news stories that one watches on the news that can really touch one.

It happened to me tonight while I was watching the local news.

The announcer talked about a woman who suffered brain injury from a ski accident 7 months ago.

She was skiing down a hill when she was accidentally hit by another skier who was skiing.

The collision caused a brain injury.

Since the accident, she has suffered some short term memory loss.

The story then went on to mention that she was a singer and shortly before the accident she had written and recorded a song about her experiences with her grandfather who was suffering from Alzheimer’s.

The song relates words her grandfather actually spoke to her when she would go visit him.

The song is called Who Are You?

Words that her grandfather said to her every time she visited him.

In the news story tonight, she told the interviewer that the words of the song now seem to apply to her as well since her accident and brain injury with its effects.

She says the song is almost like a gift from her former self to her present self as she now struggles to find out who she is.

Of course we all have days (and even a few sleepless nights) when we all ask Ourselves that very question, Who are you?

Sadly there are people in the world whose struggle with that question is even harder than most of us have ever faced.

The meaning of it all: An Idea Provoker Blog Post By Apple Rae

July 22, 2018 at 10:47 pm (Commentary, Inspiration, Life, Personal essays) ()

Here’s a very insightful and beautifully written blog post that was written by a great writer and blogger: Apple Rae-

Apple Rae

She closed her eyes to feel the warmth of the words that were too excited to escape. Words that have been jailed for quite a while, words that she kept to herself they ended up battling too much in her head. Ironic as it may seem, no matter how much she wanted to get turned on by the sensuality that writing usually gives her, she refused the treat—for she thought she didn’t deserve it.

“It’s not about “deserve”, it’s about what you believe.” -Wonder Woman

And despite of it all, all the mess and the war, she still believes in the power of love. Love that she puts in every work she does, no matter how many times she had failed herself or even others. She loved every splash of ink, every bit of ideas, every little sense of magic, every foolish mistakes, and everything that helps her create.

Thai Cave Rescue Completed Today and Remembering The Chilean Miners’ Rescue of 2010

Thai Cave Rescue Completed Today and Remembering The Chilean Miners’ Rescue of 2010

All 12 boys and their soccer coach have now been rescued from the Tham Luang cave in the province of Chiang Rai in northern Thailand 🇹🇭.

The Wild Boars soccer team is now safe.

They were in the cave 17 days.

The dramatic rescue reminded me of the rescue of the Chilean miners at the San Jose Mine near Copiapó Chile 🇨🇱 back in 2010 when 33 miners who had been trapped underground in a collapsed mine for 69 days were finally rescued.

The same feeling of the whole world watching with breathless anticipation and silent prayer and then the joy and elation after the rescue struck me as very similar.

Back in 2010, I had a desktop computer which allowed me the ability to make movies on it.

In 2008, I made plenty of photo montage music videos.

In 2009 after I figured out how to download videos off the Net to my computer, I then made combined video footage/photo montage videos.

I did the same throughout most of 2010.

The only time I did a complete video footage montage music video was this one I did about the Chilean Miners’ Rescue in 2010.

I downloaded various videos of the rescue from different news networks throughout the world and then chose what I thought were the most poignant moments from each and edited them together and set them to music- The Working Man Song as sung by Cape Breton Island Nova Scotia singer Rita MacNeil.

I Was Physically Assaulted By A Junkie High On Drugs Yesterday

June 6, 2018 at 10:59 pm (Personal essays)

I Was Physically Assaulted By A Junkie High On Drugs Yesterday

I’m trying to get my mind and emotions back in gear today as I was physically assaulted by a junkie high on drugs while I was waiting at a public transit train station yesterday afternoon.

I was down at the bottom of the stairs in the Transit train building yesterday when I heard a commotion coming from upstairs.

Some extra loud mouth that quite literally sounded like the voice of a demon itself was busy cursing 🤬 and swearing 🤬 to beat the band and busy shouting derogatory racial epithets against a member of a race not his own as he was walking down the stairs.

He then told the man walking downstairs that he was going to kill him and all other members of his race as well.

Then I heard him shout at the violinist who usually plays by the doors at the top of the stairs at that time of day on occasion, “Shut the fuck up. I’m going to kill you.”

Then I heard a commotion as of someone being hit.

Then I heard a scream and then the sound of glass smashing.

There’s a public HELP button by the elevator that you can push to directly talk to Transit security so I walked over and pushed it.

Of course naturally on occasion when it’s really needed, it wasn’t working.

So I walked out of the building on to the train platform to see if I could locate a working public HELP button there.

In the meantime the loudmouth foaming cursing and swearing junkie exited the building and walked on to the platform wheeling a bicycle 🚲 with him.

He once again shouted and cursed and threw derogatory racial epithets against all those who were not of his race and told them he was going to kill them all.

Then he walked down the platform and stopped and told other people individually, “I’m going to kill you.”

He walked up to me, looked directly at me and told me that he was going to kill me.

But then for whatever reason, he decided to physically assault me as well.

He punched me right in the sternum.

I had heard about people who were high on drugs seeming to possess some sort of superhuman strength but I had never experienced it firsthand until then.

It didn’t strike me as being that forceful a punch 🤛 but it pushed me back about 3 feet from the force of it.

When I tried to regain my composure, he then struck me on the left side of my head with his fist which sent my glasses 👓 flying off on to the cement platform where my left lens popped out of the frame upon impact.

As far as I could see, I was the only one on the whole platform that he actually hit.

From the commotion, I think it was most likely he assaulted the violinist 🎻 who was playing by the doors at the top of the Transit station building.

But other than the violinist, I was the only person he seemed to have physically assaulted.

Maybe the demons that were surrounding him were close friends with the demonic spirit guides advising Pope Francis in the Vatican and the demonic spirit guides advising Donald Trump in the White House and they were expressing their demonic disapproval of the writings in my vampire novel.

The swearing cursing psychotic asshole then followed some poor girl down the platform saying, “I’m going to kill you bitch. I’m going to slit your fucking throat. And watch you bleed. I’m going to kill you bitch.”

The last place winner of this year’s Mr. Congeniality Award then picked up his bicycle and threw it against the windows of the southbound train when it arrived on the platform.

Just on the off chance that the people inside the train 🚊 couldn’t possibly deduce what a big asshole he in fact was, he then went and hurled his bike 🚲 at the windows another 2 or 3 times.

The southbound train then left heading southwards.

By that time, the police finally arrived.

When he saw the four policemen approaching him, he then shouted “I’m going to kill you all.”

Having uttered this, he then threw himself to the ground with his hands up in the air.

“Well, so much for going to kill them all,” a teenage boy on the platform remarked giving the asshole the raspberry he so richly deserved.

Well after that, I spent an hour filling out police reports and then another half hour getting assessed in an ambulance.

I was only assessed. I wasn’t given a full examination.

If I wanted a full examination, I would have had to pay for it out of my own pocket.

I had an appointment with my doctor today anyways.

She thinks I’m okay.

Although my sternum and the left side of my head still hurt like Hell.

I also got my glasses 👓 fixed today by the optical company without charge after my doctor wrote them a note 📝 saying that my glasses 👓 had been broken due to being physically assaulted and I was currently on social assistance due to my severe clinical depression that I was diagnosed with 2 years ago and did not have much money.

So that was my day yesterday and my day today.

I didn’t get much sleep last night.

I wonder how much I’ll get tonight if any.
