The Countess Gina, Yaldabaoth and The Leonardo Da Vinci Sketch

January 14, 2024 at 11:18 pm (Art History, Geopolitics and International Relations, History, International Intrigue, Mystery, Mythology, News, The Supernatural, Vampire novel) (, , , , , , , )

The Countess Gina

The Countess Gina was in Rome posing for a black and white portrait style photograph of herself that was taken by the famous Rome portrait photographer Marcellus Ambrosio.

Countess Gina spent her winters in Rome and her summers in Venice.

And used spring and autumn for travelling across the world.

Usually Countess Gina spent her Sundays visiting various art galleries and museums across Rome.

Today however she was getting a black and white photograph taken of herself by Rome photographer Marcellus Ambrosio as this was the only day he could fit her into his busy schedule.

Yaldabaoth the Irish leprechaun 🍀 ☘️ was unaware of that as he opened the window to sneak into her Rome apartment.

Yaldabaoth was the son of the Greco-Egyptian Gnostic goddess of wisdom Sophia.

Sophia was a friend of the Countess Gina.

Like most Irish leprechauns ☘️ 🍀, Yaldabaoth had a serious drinking problem.

Although Sophia did not tell people that her son was an Irish leprechaun 🍀 ☘️ who held the world record for flunking the most Alcoholics Anonymous programs.

Instead she told people that her son Yaldabaoth was the demiurge who created the physical material universe.

And many Gnostic groups throughout the centuries had believed her claim.

Only recently Argentine Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandez the head of the Vatican 🇻🇦 Dicastery For The Doctrine of The Faith had been told just that by Sophia at a Rome cocktail party 🍹 🍸 .

Cardinal Fernandez was thinking of putting that into the next papal document 📃 that he ghost wrote for Pope Francis.

Fernandez had ghost wrote the document Amoris Laetitia for Pope Francis back in 2016.

He had most recently (back in December 2023) officially written the document Fiducia supplicans for Pope Francis allowing for the blessing of adulterous relationships as well as same sex unions.

Back in the 1990s as a young priest in Argentina 🇦🇷, Fernandez had written at least two well known books of gay porn.

The first was Heal Me With Your Mouth: The Art of Kissing published in 1995.

The second was entitled The Mystical Passion: Spirituality and Sensuality published in 1998.

In his second book he did describe one heterosexual encounter.

Apparently a 16-year-old girl he had a conversation with described a dream she had where she and Jesus had a sexual encounter on the beach of the Sea of Galilee.

Fernandez went into great details on the 16-year-old girl’s dream in his book.

What sort of priest would converse with a teen aged girl about such things and worse yet put them in a published book is a question yet to be answered.

No doubt a certain world leader (let’s call him… Joe Biden) would probably enjoy having such a conversation with a 16-year-old girl.

Fernandez’s document 📃 proclaiming Yaldabaoth as the Creator of the physical material universe (rather than Jesus Christ the Logos who was with God and was God) would no doubt be welcomed and hailed by the pseudo-intellectual morons and biggest of Satan’s useful idiots who write for such Catholic garbage online sites as One Peter Five and the Where’s Peter rag.

As Fernandez contemplated writing this future papal document 📃 , the real Yaldabaoth was breaking into the Countess Gina’s Rome apartment.

He knew that the Countess Gina had in her possession an unknown Leonardo da Vinci sketch of Christ confronting the scribes and Pharisees over the woman taken in adultery.

In the New Testament account of the event, Christ had written in the sand and then told the scribes and Pharisees, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”

Convicted by their own conscience, each of the men dropped the stones and left.

Da Vinci had sketched a drawing of the scene for a painting he had in mind.

Yaldabaoth thought of stealing the sketch and then giving it to Christie’s Auction House in London to sell for him.

Such a work by the great Renaissance artist Leonardo Da Vinci (April 15th 1452 – May 2nd 1519) would surely bring in a lot of money and he Yaldabaoth would be able to buy a lot of pints of Guinness and a lot of bottles of Jameson Irish Whiskey with it.

Thus Yaldabaoth was breaking into the Countess Gina’s Rome apartment this Sunday figuring that Gina would be spending her usual Sunday visiting museums and art galleries throughout Rome.

Alas for poor Yaldabaoth, the Countess Gina was at home in her apartment getting her photo taken by Marcellus Ambrosio.

Yaldabaoth had a card on him with the number of Dashwood Forrest the curator of the Dashwood Forrest Art Gallery in London.

Forrest worked as an occasional appraiser for Christie’s Auction House in London.

Countess Gina spotted Yaldabaoth breaking into her apartment and heading to the cabinet where she kept the Leonardo Da Vinci sketch.

Countess Gina walked across the room, grabbed the mischievous little leprechaun 🍀 ☘️ and took him across her lap and spanked him.

Marcellus Ambrosio continued taking photos with his camera.

No doubt these photos might end up in a future book by Argentine Archbishop Victor Manuel Cardinal Fernandez.

Either in a future book of porn.

Or in a future document proclaiming the latest Francis Catholic papal changes to Christian doctrine.

Revolutionary Heroine

September 18, 2023 at 9:33 pm (Art, Art History, History, International Intrigue, The Supernatural, Vampire novel) (, , , , )

A painting of a French revolutionary heroine

“That’s a remarkable painting,” British MP Renfield R. Renfield remarked to his friend Dashwood Forrest the curator of The Dashwood Forrest Art Gallery.

“It is,” Forrest agreed, “It was painted by Alphonse Dubois.”

“And what happened to Citizen Dubois?” Renfield asked.

“He was beheaded on orders of Citizen Robespierre,” Forrest answered.

“Why?” Renfield inquired.

“Because Robespierre ordered Dubois to paint a portrait of him (Robespierre) in the nude and Dubois was a little too accurate in his portrayal of Robespierre in the nude,” Forrest explained, “If that painting had been shown in public, Robespierre would have been the laughing stock of the French National Assembly.”

“It does explain Dubois’ beheading,” Renfield had to admit.

“Do you like this painting of the French Revolutionary heroine?” Forrest asked.

“I do,” Renfield nodded, “I’ll buy it.”

Renfield made the purchase and Forrest agreed to have the painting delivered to Set’s colossal West London mansion where Renfield lived.

On his way back from the art gallery, Renfield was walking down a street when he came to a scene identical to one in the painting:

“It’s a good thing,” Renfield stated, “that I didn’t buy that Katsushika Hokusai painting of the tsunami 🌊.”

Isabelle Rocher and The Ghost of Prof. James Moriarty

October 4, 2022 at 10:56 pm (Culture, Detective story, Geopolitics and International Relations, History, International Intrigue, News, The Supernatural, Vampire novel) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Isabelle Rocher or Brigitte Bardot?

The Dashwood Forrest Art Gallery in London was having a photo exhibit of original photos of European actresses.

On this particular early October evening (it had been exactly 3 years since the satanic AntiPope Jorge Mario Bergoglio aka Pope Francis had brought an idol of the demoness Pachamama into the Vatican Gardens to help open the Vatican Synod On The Amazon) it just so happened that the ghost of Prof. James Moriarty (Sherlock Holmes’ arch enemy) was wondering the streets of London.

Hades had granted Moriarty’s ghost a dispensational release from the Realm of the Underworld at the request of the demoness Pachamama.

Moriarty’s ghost noticed The Dashwood Forrest Art Gallery and decided to enter.

He stared intently at a photograph of noted French actress Brigitte Bardot.

He kept saying over and over again, “Isabelle Rocher, Isabelle Rocher.”

“No,” Dashwood Forrest the owner of the gallery approached the ghostly spectral leader, “That’s Brigitte Bardot the famous French actress.”

“She looks exactly like my French mistress Isabelle Rocher,” the brilliant mathematician and criminal mastermind was astounded at the resemblance, “although I never saw her wear a skirt that looked like that. If I had, I’d have probably got hornier and had sex with her a lot sooner.”

“When did this Isabelle Rocher live?” Dashwood Forrest inquired.

“Back in the 19th Century,” Moriarty replied.

“No not many women wore skirts that looked like that back in the 19th Century,” Dashwood Forrest admitted, “save possibly women who worked in the inside of bordellos.”

“I had fled to Latin America when she told me that she was pregnant,” Moriarty recalled, “And when I returned to France, I discovered that she had given birth to a son called Louis. They left Paris and went to the French countryside somewhere. I could never track them down. I saw Louis’ baptismal certificate and she had listed the father as unknown. So I imagine he took his mother’s last name for his own. Louis Rocher would have been his name.”

“There was a famous French scientist called Dr. Louis Rocher who was shot down and killed by the Red Baron the day before the Red Baron himself was shot down and killed,” Dashwood Forrest recalled.

“The Red Baron?” Moriarty’s ghostly face looked quizzical.

“I’ll explain the history later,” Forrest was familiar with entertaining the dead as he once had had an Irish zombie named Mulligan as a manservant.

“And did this Dr. Louis Rocher have any offspring?” Moriarty inquired.

“He did,” Forrest nodded, “In fact his great- grandson Dr. Cadbury Rocher is the chief scientist for Set Enterprises here in London.”

“I wonder who Louis Rocher’s wife was?” Prof. James Moriarty mused aloud.

“Sherrielock Holmes,” Forrest answered.

Moriarty’s jaw dropped, “Sherlock Holmes’ lesser known twin sister?”.

“That’s her,” Forrest nodded.

“You mean I have descendents that have both Holmes and Moriarty blood in them?” Prof. Moriarty was shocked out of his skull.

In fact Moriarty had carried his skull with him out of Hades and had now dropped it on the art gallery floor.

At that moment British MP Renfield R. Renfield and the quite literally immortal Sherrielock Holmes (she had once consumed Lingzhi supernatural mushrooms on one occasion that had made her immortal) entered the gallery.

“Prof. Moriarty!” Sherrielock exclaimed in surprise as she recognized the ghost.

Portrait of Tapairu The Tahitian Sleeping Beauty

March 21, 2021 at 10:27 pm (Art, Arts, History, Romance, Short Story, Vampire novel) (, , , , , , , , )

Portrait of Tapairu the Tahitian Sleeping Beauty

“What an absolutely beautiful painting,” Sherrielock Holmes the (quite literally) immortal twin sister of London consulting detective Sherlock Holmes gazed at the newest acquisition now hanging in the Dashwood Forrest Art Gallery in London.

Mr. Truffles her orange tabby cat purred in agreement and looked up affectionately at the painting.

“It was painted in Tahiti back in 1894 by one Sean Seamus O’ Gill an Irish painter and artist who lived on the island of Tahiti around the same time as the French artist Paul Gauguin,” Dashwood Forrest the art gallery owner and curator explained, “sadly Mr. O’ Gill is not as well known as Gauguin.”

As the old grandfather clock chimed in the gallery and the statue of a gnome emerged out of a small drawer to turn over an hourglass whose sands had just run out, images from a past time seemed to filter into the present.

Sean Seamus O’ Gill looked at the vision in front of him.

“What a vision,” Sean Seamus O’ Gill remarked to the French missionary priest Father Jacques La Croix.

“It’s like that old Irish hymn whose lyrics begin “Be thou my vision”, eh, Sean?” Father La Croix smiled.

“I guess you could phrase it that way,” Sean nodded, “She does look divine.”

“That she does,” Father La Croix agreed.

“Are you sure she wouldn’t object to being painted while sleeping?” Sean asked.

“No,” Father La Croix shook his head, “She wants to be painted while sleeping. She wants this portrait to be called the Tahitian Sleeping Beauty. She wants to give it as a gift to the man she’s going to marry.”

“She’s engaged?” A look of disappointment crossed Sean’s face.

“Nothing official yet,” Father La Croix answered, “but she hopes to be.”

And so that was how Sean Seamus O’ Gill came to paint the portrait of Tapairu the Tahitian sleeping beauty.

Over the next few months, Sean would sketch drawings and eventually paint pictures afterwards of Tapairu dancing at night in the village center like a royal dancer.

He would sketch drawings and paint pictures afterwards of Tapairu singing to school children during the day.

One of the village matriarchs took notice of his work.

“I’ve been told that an artist likes to depict a subject he loves,” she smiled.

“Um… Tapairu just makes a good subject,” The artist seemed to blush, “That’s all.”

Sean did wonder though which of the many suitors that seemed to want to attract Tapairu’s attention, Tapairu had given her heart to.

On the night of Sean’s birthday, many of the villagers gave Sean gifts.

Tapairu gave Sean a carefully wrapped and rather large present.

Sean opened it.

This was what he saw.

Sean then remembered the words of Father La Croix that she wanted to give the portrait of the Tahitian Sleeping Beauty as a gift to the man she wanted to marry.

Tapairu smiled happily at him.

Sean smiled happily back.

Kendra Rai Private Eye

February 20, 2021 at 11:54 pm (Detective story, Espionage, Geopolitics and International Relations, International Intrigue, Mystery, News, Spy Tales, The Supernatural, Vampire novel) (, , , , , , )

Kendra Rai Private Eye

Dashwood Forrest the owner and curator of The Dashwood Forrest Art Gallery in London had had one of his paintings stolen from his gallery the past week.

The painting was a rare oil painting painted by Oscar Wilde.

Forrest was one of the few people in the world who knew that Wilde had painted some pictures and set out to find them through his various contacts.

This particular Wilde painting was of Alexander the Great having himself anointed and crowned Pharaoh of Egypt after having conquered Egypt in 332 BC.

On one of the pillars next to where Alexander was being crowned was an interesting set of hieroglyphs in the picture.

According to the story Forrest received, Wilde painted the picture of the hieroglyphs in conjunction with some research that writer Bram Stoker (the eventual author of Dracula and later The Jewel of Seven Stars) was doing.

Of course during the pandemic and Boris Johnson’s massive UK lockdown, The Dashwood Forrest Art Gallery was not open to the public.

However Forrest had virtual exhibits of his paintings and art treasures on-line.

And appropriately socially distant private viewings could be arranged via emails with Forrest.

Last week he had shown the Oscar Wilde painting of Pharaoh Alexander the Great and the pillar of hieroglyphs on-line in a virtual exhibit.

The next night the painting was stolen.

On the advice of a friend, he hired London private investigator Kendra Rai to find it being told that she was the best private investigator in London.

London Private Investigator Kendra Rai the best private eye in London

Kendra Rai took the case immediately.

A case that would satisfy her intense intellectual curiosity and challenge her mind.

Kendra emailed a photo of the original Wilde painting of Pharaoh Alexander with the hieroglyphically inscribed pillar to an Egyptologist she knew at the British Museum wanting a translation of the hieroglyphs from him.

Kendra received an excited middle of the night phone call from the Egyptologist once he had translated them.

She was angry about being awakened in the middle of the night but once he told her the translation, she was no longer angry.

Kendra thanked the Egyptologist and put her phone down.

She now knew the reason why the painting was probably stolen.

And suspected who might be behind it.

Rogue MI-5 agents (although MI-5 was still unaware that these agents were rogue) Benedict Pence and Mike Arnold came mincing into their luxury apartment after a night on the town.

Of course they shouldn’t be on a night on the town during lockdown but both fancied that rules didn’t apply to them (God knew that certain rules laid down in Deuteronomy and Leviticus they didn’t follow).

On the wall of their apartment by the door they had a painting of Brutus and Cassius stabbing Julius Caesar to death.

On the opposite side of the room, they had a painting of Judas Iscariot getting paid his 30 pieces of silver from the Jerusalem Temple priests.

Both men as they entered noticed a bottle of champagne with two glasses in the middle of the room.

Thinking that the other had ordered it, both men took the glasses, poured themselves some champagne and had a toast.

They drank.

A light went on in a corner of the darkened room showing Kendra Rai Private Eye sitting there.

“Good evening, gentlemen,” Kendra Rai smiled at them, “I don’t bring you tidings of great joy like on a certain evening of March 13th 2013 when someone else wished the world a “Good evening”. Rather to let you know that your champagne has been poisoned. I have the antidote in my purse along with my gun. So don’t try anything rash. I will give you the antidote when you tell me where the painting you stole is. And don’t tell me what painting. I’ve had the hieroglyphs translated. I know it was probably you who took it.”

“You’re bluffing,” Pence gulped.

“Try me,” Kendra laughed, “I have nothing to lose. You do.”

“We sold it to a certain billionaire,” Arnold gulped, “We won’t mention the billionaire. He doesn’t have it yet. It’s being shipped out of the country tonight.”

“Do you know the location of where it’s being shipped from?” Kendra asked.

“We do,” Pence and Arnold both nodded at the same time.

“Come, gentlemen,” Kendra held up a vial and also pointed a gun at them, “We’re going for a ride. And you better hope we get there in time to stop that painting leaving the country.”

Kendra did get there in time.

The painting was retrieved.

An anxiously sweating Pence and Arnold were given the vial.

And Kendra Rai returned the painting to Dashwood Forrest telling him to lock the painting in his safe and to no longer display it in any exhibits virtual or otherwise.

When she told him what the hieroglyphs on the pillar in the painting said, Forrest knew the reason.

The hieroglyphs gave the formula for making a deadly plague to be released on the world capable of killing most of the planet’s population.

Kendra had an idea which global billionaire probably wanted it.

The Medusa Portrait

August 13, 2020 at 11:18 pm (Geopolitics and International Relations, International Intrigue, Mythology, News, painting, Politics, The Supernatural, Vampire novel) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

The Medusa Portrait

Dr. Lionel Jarrett a professor of Classics at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan stood looking at his daughter Eva while London art gallery curator Dashwood Forrest (owner of The Dashwood Forrest Art Gallery) stood alongside a portrait painting of the famous Medusa.

The portrait of Medusa had been painted by Oscar Wilde who was much better known for his witty repartee, his plays, his short stories, his poems, his children’s stories and his novel The Picture of Dorian Gray than he was for artistically painting pictures.

It was only recently that Dashwood Forrest in his research and investigations had uncovered that Wilde was an artist (in the painting sense of that term) as well as a writer.

Wilde had apparently painted this picture of Medusa after a wild night of drinking absinthe and trying to write a poem about her.

In his dream that inspired the painting, Wilde had Medusa sit for him while he set up his canvas, palette and paints.

Medusa had returned for this sitting just after her appointment with her gay Spartan hairdresser.

Boasted the hairdresser at her appointment, “I had 299 fellow Spartans at my backside making us a noble band of 300 but I refused to bow the knee to the King of Persia.”

The hairdresser’s bloodcurdling tale had caused serpentlike curls to form at the top of Medusa’s hair which Wilde was able to capture in this sitting.

The serpents of course never did leave Medusa’s hair.

It really was the Hairstyling Appointment From Hell.

When Wilde woke up, he discovered that he had been sleep painting and had painted the portrait to its final finish.

Dr. Lionel Jarrett looking at his daughter Eva said he’d buy the painting for her.

The ghost of Orson Welles (just recently returned from Luxor, Egypt) took a black and white photo of the happy moment.

. . .

A naked Donald Trump was in the shower showering his golden toupee as his son-in-law Jared Kushner sat blindfolded outside the clear screen see-through screen shower cubicle.

“So, Jared,” Trump was using Johnson’s Baby Shampoo, “How did you get Israel and the United Arab Emirates to agree to establish diplomatic relations with one another?”.

“Well, Ivanka asked her friend London art gallery owner Dashwood Forrest to ask his friend the ex-Gorgon Medusa to visit a gay hairdresser in the town of Sparti, Greece (which lies at the site of ancient Sparta) and when she got snakes back in her hair, she was going to visit both Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed Al Nayhan and turn them to stone unless they agreed to establish diplomatic relations with each other.”

“So the answer to establishing peace is to get stoned?” Trump asked Kushner.

Meanwhile down in his basement, Democratic Party presumptive Presidential nominee Joe Biden was talking to his pet pot smoking desert cactus plant whom he had named Sweet Dementia, “Wow, that’s really crazy, man. You mean Kamala is descended from a slave owning family on the island of Jamaica and not descended from slaves? Wow, that really blows my mind. Good thing for me, my mind was blown a long time ago. Fortunately for me, most of the mainstream news media in this country are all disinformation branches of the New World Order Ministry of Propaganda and won’t bother mentioning that. Since Kamala and I are going to bring the Marxist New World Order to America. Now, I think I’ll go take a shower, Sweet Dementia. Care to join me?”.

A Time of Madness

July 25, 2020 at 10:17 pm (Geopolitics and International Relations, International Intrigue, News, The Supernatural, Vampire novel) (, , , , , )

Saint Anthony the Great once said,
“A time is coming when men will go mad,
and when they see someone who is not mad,
they will attack him, saying,
you are mad;
you are not like us.”

A woman not wearing a mask in a grocery store
was set upon and beaten by 5 other women (wearing masks)
because she was not wearing a mask.
Of course if these self-righteous bitches
had bothered to ask
It was because she had an underlying medical condition
and a certificate from her doctor
saying she was unable to wear a mask.

But these are not normal times
“Insanity” and “madness” is the new normal
Christ said, “Fear not those who can kill the body
but those who can kill the soul”
A virus can kill the body
but it is madness that can kill the soul.

And in these times, most people show
they prefer madness.

In The Dashwood Forrest Art Gallery in London,
the Syro-Phoenician goddess Atargatis reminded
Dracul Van Helsing, Dashwood Forrest and Renfield R. Renfield:

“Those whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad.”

Late Victorian/Early Edwardian Photo of Kali?

February 27, 2020 at 11:58 pm (Geopolitics and International Relations, International Intrigue, Mythology, News, The Supernatural, Vampire novel) (, , , , , , , )

Late Victorian/Early Edwardian Photo of Kali?

Former British Conservative MP Agathor Christie was attending an antique photo exhibit being held at the Dashwood Forrest Art Gallery in London.

He was looking at a photo where the caption beneath it said that it was a late Victorian/early Edwardian era photo of the Hindu goddess Kali:

“Is this true?” Agathor Christie asked Dashwood Forrest the art gallery owner and curator.

“Well, according to the journal of esteemed London portrait photographer Edward H. Pickering, it is,” Forrest answered.

“But it seems to me I read somewhere that Kali has ten arms,” Agathor scratched his head.

“Well, having ten arms is just one of the forms she appears in (her Mahakali form) and since according to Mr. Pickering,” Forrest read from a photocopy of the photographer’s original journal, “Kali wanted her photo taken discreetly and didn’t want to attract attention walking the streets of London, she just appeared in the form of a regular woman. Walking down the streets with ten arms would have definitely attracted attention to one’s self.”

“That’s a good point,” Agathor had to agree.

“What was she doing in London?” Agathor’s private eye partner former Labour MP Magog Rhys Petley inquired.

“She wanted to see the capital of this Empire that claimed to rule her people of India,” Forrest answered.

“What were Kali’s origins?” Agathor put on his monocle🧐 and took a closer look at the photo.

“Well,” Forrest answered, “according to one tradition, the warrior goddess Durga, who also has ten arms, was riding a lion or tiger into battle against the Mahishasura (or Mahisa) the buffalo demon. Durga became so enraged at the buffalo demon in this battle that her anger burst from her forehead in the form of Kali. Once born, Kali went wild and ate all the demons she came across, stringing their heads on a chain which she wore around her neck.”

“Sounds to me Durga or Kali should go to Canada and battle a buffalo demon who’s wandering around there,” Agathor reflected over a glass of cognac just handed to him, “the man who defeated me as MP twice in the past two elections Renfield R. Renfield is currently visiting Canada and informs me that a demon buffalo was recently raised from the dead at its resting place in Tail Creek, Alberta. It is now wandering without a head across the provinces of Ontario and Quebec where it is aiding Mohawk Warriors and Trotskyite Marxists in a insurrection dubbed #ShutDownCanada.”

“Seems to me I heard something about that,” Forrest acknowledged.

The Portrait of Dorian Gray’s Teddy Bear

December 9, 2019 at 11:07 pm (Art, Arts, Culture, Literature, Mystery, painting, The Supernatural, Vampire novel) (, , , , , , )

The Portrait of Dorian Gray’s Teddy Bear

Dashwood Forrest the owner of The Dashwood Forrest Art Gallery had spent the day visiting a London Christmas Market.

On his way home, he had visited a small antique store where he noticed a rather old painting of a child’s teddy bear.

Intrigued by the painting, Forrest had bought the painting for £20 and brought it back to his gallery with him.

He gave the painting a cleaning and noticed the name of the artist- Basil Hallward.

The same artist who had painted the original portrait of Dorian Gray that Forrest had purchased at an estate sale back in October of 2012.

Prior to purchasing that painting, Forrest had just believed that the artist Basil Hallward was a fictional character and the famous portrait of Dorian Gray had been a figment of Oscar Wilde’s imagination.

Back on September 3rd of this year, the figure of Dorian Gray had disappeared from the painting when Hurricane Dorian had struck the Caribbean.

Only to return when the storm finally faded into oblivion.

And now here was a portrait of a teddy bear done by the same man who had painted a portrait of Dorian Gray.

Forrest noticed the year below Basil Hallward’s name -1860- the same year he had painted the picture of Dorian Gray.

Forrest decided to take the frame off and check the back of the canvas of the painting.

There on the back of the canvas of the painting were the words Portrait of Dorian Gray’s Toy Bear- painted 1860.

So Dorian Gray had owned a teddy bear before teddy bears became popular (teddy bears had emerged as a phenomenon back in the early 1900s and the toy bears had in fact been named after Teddy Roosevelt who was the U.S. President of the day).

Forrest went to the secluded room in the gallery where he kept the picture of Dorian Gray.

He hung the portrait of Dorian Gray’s teddy bear next to Gray’s portrait.

He then put the velvet curtains up again in front of both paintings, turned off the lights and closed the door.

Had he stayed in the room a few minutes longer, he’d have noticed the figure of Dorian Gray’s teddy bear in the portrait had gone missing.

Dashwood Forrest, The Empty Portrait and Hurricane Dorian

September 3, 2019 at 11:01 pm (Aesthetics, Art, Arts, Fantasy, Folklore, Geopolitics and International Relations, Ghost Story, Gothic, Gothic romance, History, Horror, International Intrigue, magic, Mystery, Mystery/horror, Mythology, News, Philosophy, The Occult, The Supernatural, Vampire novel) (, , , , , , , , , )

Dashwood Forrest, The Empty Portrait and Hurricane Dorian

Dashwood Forrest sat in his office in his art gallery in London and quietly sipped a drink of absinthe.

The Green Fairy as it was called was one of the favourite drinks of his idol the writer, novelist, poet and playwright Oscar Wilde.

Forrest’s living dead Irish manservant Mulligan the Irish zombie (who had been brought back from the dead many years ago by South African witch doctor Dr. Sterling Makabo) was out for the evening.

Mulligan had been hired for the evening by British MP Renfield R. Renfield to haunt the residence of British Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn and stand outside the back entrance of Corbyn’s lodgings and say in a spookily haunting zombie voice (with an Irish lilt to it), “The Irish backstop ends at your back door, Mr. Corbyn. The Irish backstop ends at your backdoor.”

As Jeremy Corbyn began to suffer the worst nightmares of his life, Forrest finished his glass of absinthe, left his office and locked it.

He walked down to the end of the gallery where he entered a room marked PRIVATE.

No one (not even Mulligan the Irish zombie) ever entered that room.

Only he Dashwood Forrest art historian, art gallery curator and extraordinary gentleman of many talents ever entered that room.

For that room contained a portrait behind purple velvet curtains.

A portrait of a man.

A portrait of a man painted in the year 1860.

A portrait that was first mentioned in a book published in July 1890.

A book that most people (and even Dashwood Forrest himself for most of his life) had considered a work of fiction.

Until Forrest came across the painting in an estate sale back in October of 2012.

The picture was of a man named… Dorian Gray.

And the artist who signed the picture was named Basil Hallward.

The painting was of an extremely handsome young man in his early 20s.

Exactly as described in Oscar Wilde’s famous Gothic Philosophical novel of the 19th Century- The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Forrest drew back the purple velvet curtains that covered the painting and hid it from view.

Forrest got the shock of his life when he saw the portrait was empty.

There was no subject in the painting.

Dorian Gray was gone.

. . .

Forrest stared blankly at the blank canvas and blinked.

His smart phone went off.

It was a text message from his friend Amadeus Emanon.

A Set Enterprises satellite over the Bahamas had photographed the eye of the storm of Hurricane Dorian.

And a giant mysterious almost human figure seemed to be standing and moving with the eye of the storm in the hurricane.

Forrest again blinked.

For the figure was the spitting image of Dorian Gray.

The figure now missing from the painting.
